President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has called for enhanced cooperation between Zambia and China in various sectors of the economy.
President HICHILEMA says Government has taken keen interest in the achievements of China and would like to learn from the Asian country.
He says Zambia wants to cooperate with China in exploiting and adding value to raw materials so that the country can start exporting finished products.
The head of state also says Government is in a hurry to enhance cooperation with China in the making of batteries for electric vehicles.
He notes that Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo -DRC- have already partnered to start producing batteries for electric vehicles.
President HICHILEMA said this when new Chinese Ambassador to Zambia DU XIAOHUI submitted his letter of credence at State House.
The Head of State also thanked China for the support it has rendered to Zambia such as the construction of the Kenneth KAUNDA international conference centre in Lusaka.
He also thanked China for coming on board to help Zambia resolve its debt challenge.
And Mr DU said CHINA will continue to support the new dawn administration’s economic recovery drive,.
Mr. DU said China and Zambia have enjoyed bilateral relations deeply rooted in the hearts of the two peoples with a profound historical heritage.
